Nice Shot! Basic Photo Habits for Beginners
I created this class because I finally feel like I have learned enough to help other people take their SCA photography to the next level. You can have any type of camera in the SCA and take great photos! Some current phones have better cameras than my first camera! I think that taking some time to be aware of your surroundings and your subjects can go a long, long way in taking photos that really tell a story.
When I say these are basic habits, I mean BASIC. I ask that you please take the time to really think about the story or feeling you want to evoke when you capture a moment. When you are actively taking pictures, I encourage you to BE AWARE of your subjects, the backgrounds, and any supporting or distracting objects. Some things can be fixed with a quick crop, but most editing should be done while the photo is being taken. These simple rules can become habits over time if you are aware and conscious when taking pictures. I can't count how many times I've moved because I noticed a car or a cooler in the background!
