| After having created a few reproduction pieces, I decided that it was finally time for me to slowly start working on my "creativity" by adding some of my own features to period inspirations. This was my first attempt at making changes, so I started off with minor changes. For Border Raids 2014, there was an A&S Display with the theme of "Going to War." I found the original image in an online manuscript database and thought, hey, there are two flags in this image of war. What's a better way to represent Border Raids?! I decided to update the armor and flags to reflect the Middle Kingdom and the Kingdom of Meridies. This was just for display, so I added one page of documentation to explain my source. Looking back, I should have added that this was drawn freehand and painted with gouache. I used a crow quill nib dip pen for the outlines in both black and brown ink. Border Raids 2014 also happened to be the first event where I challenged the populace to find me and do their best "rampant goat" interpretation so I could take their picture. I had my Border Raids miniature copied onto postcards and gave them as tokens for anyone who supported House Atzinger by doing their goat pose. It was SO much fun! I've never laughed so much in one day as I did seeing everyone randomly goat for me! Here is the documentation for this display piece. |
